Many HarperCollins authors operate their own websites to advertise and promote their books, and to communicate directly with their readers. While an author is solely responsible for the content and operation of their own external website, here are some tips that we think you might find helpful.

They can also search for key words within your book, read excerpts, read critical praise, sign up for your AuthorTracker, and click "buy the book" to hop over to our list of online retailers.

As published authors, you will be easy to find with popular search engines, such as Google, MSN, and Yahoo, when one types in your name or the title of one of your books. But how can you be found online by readers who may not know who you are?
Do you write mysteries? Do you write Regencies? Do you have certain characters that feature in your stories? Are you known for writing about a specific region? Think about how else you want to be found.…
